My Dearest Miette
Photography series, 2025

Oh, my goodness, my dear friend, how fondly I reflect upon the delightful days we spent together in Copenhagen. I have now arrived safely at my abode after the lengthy journey. Most especially do I recall our visit to Glyptoteket. The Winter Garden was truly enchanting beyond measure. However, I find myself beset by a small difficulty for which I must entreat your assistance. We did gaze upon two sculptures that left us quite stunned, as well as a most mesmerising painting. The vexing matter is that I am unable to recall the names of the artists nor the titles of these works. Might you be so kind as to aid me in this regard, my dearest? With all affection, Anne

Created in response to a fictional letter from 1910, this work reimagines three classical pieces from the Glyptoteket through a contemporary lens. By restaging the forms of Venus and other muses with modern gestures and technologies, the series reflects on the enduring mystique of the female figure — both idealized and objectified — and how her image continues to be shaped, edited, and consumed.
